MY REVIEW:

Despite being the second in a series, I delved right into AT YOUR DOOR and couldn't put it down. And although it picks up where the previous one left off, it can still be read as a standalone. There's nothing worse than coming into a series and not knowing what is going on because every book leads into another. But this one is so nail-biting and page-turning, I don't think I had time to notice.

DCI Anna Tate and her team are called to investigate the murder of a young woman found naked with her throat cut on Barnes Common. The victim, it turns out, is the daughter of a former police commissioner. Enter a prominent politician as her lover and Anna is under pressure to solve this murder quickly and cleanly.

However, Holly's murder is not the only case that consumes Anna. Ten years ago, her then 2 year old daughter was abducted by her ex-husband and Anna has never given up searching for her. Chloe would now me 12 and as the narrative shifts between the current case and that of Anna's search for her daughter, the reader is given a glimpse into Anna's tortured mind.

AT YOUR DOOR is a fast paced, addictive and thrilling crime thriller that will have you turning the pages faster than the speed of light. I love how this story is darker than your usual procedurals and being drawn into Anna's private hell gives us pause to empathise with her.

A gripping read, AT YOUR DOOR is perfect for fans of gritty and dark crime fiction such as Katerina Diamond and M.J. Arlidge.

I would like to thank #JPCarter, #Netgalley and #AvonBooks for an ARC of #AtYourDoor in exchange for an honest review.
